Pet care experience
I understand that no one can love your pets quite like you can, but I do my very best to make sure they feel safe, secure, entertained, and loved while you're away! I've had cats and dogs (boxers, chihuahuas, & german shepherd) my whole life, along with the occasional guinea pig, mouse, or fish, and I love them like they're my babies. I've worked at a dog resort, as an aquarists assistant taking care of fish and turtles, and have pet sat for plenty of friends, family, and people through Rover. I am also pursuing a PhD in biology, so my love for animals is engrained in all parts of my life. I've used pet sitters through Rover for my dog and cats -- I understand your perspective of stressing out trying to find the perfect pet sitter while you're planning to go out of town, so I know what the expectations of a petsitter are and how to fulfill them. Jordan was incredibly kind and communicative during her drop-ins with my tortoise Sticks! She sent pictures and messages while she was at my apartment, and I felt at ease knowing he was in good hands. She responded quickly to my first message and has been responsive from then til the day of the drop-ins as well. If you’re looking for a reliable sitter for your companions I recommend her 100%
Jordan is a great pet sitter!! Our cat Floki is very energetic and craves attention, so she needs someone who will actually play with her, pet her, and actively engage with her during visits - Jordan does all of that and more. She sent us a ton of cute photos and videos of Floki after each visit, and it was clear Jordan was giving Floki her full attention, which was very reassuring. It was also obvious that Floki loved Jordan because she was cozying up to her in most of the photos, which she typically doesn’t do even with friends/family that she’s been around dozens of times. Jordan is reliable, trustworthy, and an overall nice person - everything you’d want in a good pet sitter. Highly recommend!

I tend to overthink about anything a mischievous pet could get into and take precautions to prevent anything dangerous from happening. I pride myself in my ability to read animal body language and give off a calming energy to soothe nervous animals.

I'd like to know the basics of feeding, walking, playtime etc., along with how to leave them and your home. Any quirks and preferences they have would help me make sure I win them over and ease any stress they may have.
A typical day
For dogs or cats, I'll keep them entertained as much as I can! Play time, walks with lots of sniffs, treats, belly rubs, brushing, love, etc.

Availability
I'm a PhD student, but my schedule is very flexible and I have set boundaries for a school/life/work balance so I'm not constrained. Early mornings and evenings are when I am most available, but under certain circumstances I may be able to sneak away around lunch time.
