Like (most) dogs, I love being outside, enjoying long walks and runs in nature and the city. As long as I've eaten my daily meal, I'm ready for anything, preferably involving a tennis ball. ;) In my hometown in Alaska, I was well-known among local dog owners as a preferred choice for pet care. I am responsible, enthusiastic, and I love engaging and connecting with pets. I have experience caring for dogs of all personalities, from rigid to flexible schedules, mellow demeanors, and athletic powerhouses. I have some professional experience housesitting for pets, and I lived with a dog for a year here in Portland. I treat all animals with respect, and I handle discipline as an opportunity to encourage positive behavior in the dog. Although humans and dogs can't communicate directly, there is always a deeper level of unspoken understanding between pet and caregiver, and I mean to cultivate that relationship through kindness while earning the dog's respect.
