My biggest priority in taking care of someone else's pet(s) is making sure that myself, the owner, and the pet all feel comfortable. I like to ask questions and gather as much information as possible before I come over so that I feel prepared and the owner knows that I care about their pets. In general, I like to know what the owner expects of me when I come over, and then extra information like what their typical routines are, whether they get food and water once or multiple times a day, what medicines they need, and any other information that will make us all feel as comfortable as possible!

My top priority when dropping in or taking a fur baby on a walk is double-checking the owner's care instructions first! After taking care of the essentials, I enjoy letting dogs have some outside time - whether it's playing with their favorite toy, lounging under a tree in the backyard, or taking a walk around the block. Once they are ready to come inside, I am more than happy to provide some extra attention and cuddles on the couch or try to get rid of some extra energy by playing with their favorite toys. When I drop in to take care of cats, I always take care of the priorities first - food, water, litter, and medicine. After I take care of the necessities, I enjoy sitting on the floor and playing with their toys, brushing them and giving them pets, or completely ignoring them (if that's what they want!).
