I've been around animals my entire life and always have had dogs in my home. I grew up riding horses, giving me confidence around large and sometimes hard to handle dogs. I volunteered with the SPCA for years as a teen which gave me experience with a very wide range of animal species and temperments. I have been successfully training my own aussie retriever puppy Storm (born Oct 1, 2022) using positive reinforcement. Since the beginning of 2023, we've completed puppy school, teen manners classes, as well as lots of one on one leash training under a guide dog trainer. I have picked up many skills and tricks along the way and learned exponentially about positive reinforcement which has improved my overall dog care. Storm is an extremely high energy, "velcro" puppy who has increased my overall patience. I also have a rescued feral cat named Slevin who was found in a tear down property by one of my good friends in 2012. She has lived happily with us since then and is much more socialized (but still only will associate with my partner and I!).
