Dependable Loving Care For Your Pet
Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Sunshine. I’ve owned and worked with dogs, cats, and horses for over 20 years. I am responsible, dependable, trustworthy, and hardworking. I enjoy caring for others animals as if they were my own. In the past, I have volunteered at shelters, a veterinarian's office, and the spay/neuter league as well as working my own dog in 4-H obedience.

I prefer to schedule a meet-and-greet prior to any booking to ensure I'm a good fit and that you, and your dog, are comfortable with me. I will bring along a questionnaire to the meet and greet that will allow you to annotate any special instructions and allow me to get to know your pet better prior to a booking. Please have vaccination records, current medications, and a list of any special needs available at the time of the meet and greet.
Information Joni Sunshine P. would like to know about your pet
At the meet and greet, I want to get to know your pet, what their favorite toys or games are, their quirks, likes/dislikes, and daily routine so I make sure they are comfortable when I come to do the walk or drop-in visit.
A typical day
**When I am with your pet, I will treat them with kindness, respect, and love. I can engage your pet with games and toys that promote good exercise. I love walking and being active, especially with a dog and can give your dog the exercise it needs while you are away. **If your dog is a senior and cannot play I will be happy to provide a potty break and some cuddling and love. I am patient and gentle with special needs dogs. I can also give oral or topical medication, and clean up accidents if your pet has one. **I will keep in touch regarding your pet through the Rover app with Rover cards and pictures at each drop-in visit/walk for your peace of mind. I have completed the Rover 101 course for best care practices which is signified by the graduation hat icon on my profile. **Please create a profile for each of your pets on Rover.com. Fill it out completely with a current photo, updated care instructions and vet information. This ensures that if there is an emergency, I can act quickly and have all information needed to respond to the situation efficiently. **I only accept weekend and after hours request on a case by case basis. My weekend rate of 35$ will apply. Please reach out to me if you should need me during those times. I will do my best to accommodate your pet if I am available. It is always a good idea to have a back up sitter/walker. DROP IN VISITS I will spend 30 minutes with your pet providing a potty break, playtime, a meal (if needed), and lots of attention. If there are specifics you would like me to do during that time please let me know. I can substitute a walk for a drop-in if you prefer as long as the weather is suitable. WALKS I can walk your dog in your neighborhood close to your home for 30 minutes. I provide several water breaks during the walk when the weather is warm. For the safety of your pet: I will not walk a dog in extreme heat or cold and will substitute a drop-in visit with a potty break for a walk if the weather is inclement. I do not take dogs to dog parks, and I do request a fixed leash (no flexi leashes please). **ADDITIONAL RATES** *ADITIONAL DOG/CAT:5$ per each additional pet beyond the first. *AFTER HOURS RATE/WEEKEND RATES: 35$ PER WALK/DROP IN. ( I do not typically work after hours or weekends, but will consider a request based on my availability) **HOLIDAY RATES: 50$** Holidays are a busy time for everyone, pet parents and sitters alike. That’s why sitter rates for walks and drop-in visits may be slightly higher during these in-demand times of the year. **MY POLICY** *I will not tolerate: nipping/biting or excessive jumping and leash pulling. *Your dog/pet will need to be current on vaccinations and I will need to review records at the meet and greet. If they are not current on their vaccinations, I cannot accept the booking. *Your dog will need to have a collar with an identification and rabies tag they can wear while in my care before I will accept a booking. *If your pet is sick and you refuse to seek veterinary care after I have notified you, I reserve the right to decline bookings until it is resolved. * I accept bookings on a first come first serve basis. I cannot hold spots. If you would like to be added to my wait list, please let me know. * For safety, if an entry key will be used I suggest storing it in a key storage lockbox on the premises. If you have an electronic lock on the front door, please supply a code that is for me exclusively, not the same code for anyone else that will be entering the home. Access through an attached garage door via code is a great option and preferred. Being able to close a garage door before entering can minimize the risk of excited pets escaping. **VACCINATIONS** REQUIRED VACCINATIONS: DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parainfluenza, and Parvovirus), and Rabies. OPTIONAL: Canine Lepto vaccination (annual), Canine Lyme Disease vaccination (annually), heartworm test, fecal profile, canine Influenza combo (annually), and Bordetella. **CANCELLATIONS** You'll get a full refund if you cancel by 12:00 noon the day BEFORE the walk/drop-in begins. If you cancel AFTER 12:00 noon the day before the stay begins, you'll get a 50% refund. I will consider full refunds for a last minute cancellation on a case by case basis.
