I grew up with multiple dogs, including a 100 lb Alaskan malamute, and currently own a 1 1/2 year old 40 lb border collie who I raised and trained myself from a puppy. My sister is a vet tech and any time I have a pet-related question I am able to ask her for help.

Jonathon and I met at the dog park and it was apparent from the first time I met him how much of an animal lover he is! He is a great dog owner to Aerie. He took the time to learn hand signs to communicate with my dog who is deaf. I have had him watch my dog Kya and he has always been on top of communication with texts and pictures and provided excellent care for her. I highly recommend him as a pet sitter!

I have an energetic, but very friendly, border collie mix who is a year and a half old, and I have a half acre fenced in yard that is 6 feet tall to ensure her safety. She would love to play with your dog, but would also be happy to do her own thing if your dog is calmer. I have a dog door that can be open or left closed at your request, and have 2 crates if you would like your dog to be crated for any reason. I also have a dog gate to separate dogs in different rooms if needed, and I live in a safe neighborhood where I can walk your dog on leash as well.

A typical day
Playing fetch or doing agility training in the yard is the most common exercise I would do, but I can take them on walks regularly if desired, and my dog loves to chase and wrestle and play with other dogs. I also would happily make trips to the dog park.

Availability
I am a graduate student at NC state who is currently working on their PHD, and my research can all be done remotely. I work from home and take regular breaks to play with my current dog. I feed her twice a day, and allow her to play both inside and outside throughout the day.
