For as long as I can remember, I have loved being around dogs! To this day, I still don't know or understand why it is but I don't question it. I love dogs, I always have and always will. I do everything I can to treat the dog as an equal and not inferior to me. However, they do need to know that I am ultimately in charge. There's a fine line. I try to give my dog, Bella, as much love, attention and freedom to do as she pleases as possible but still strongly enforcing discipline in a way that isn't just screaming at them. Positivity is key in my opinion. As humans, we wouldn't want to be in a negative or toxic environment, why would anyone think that it would be ok to put a dog in that environment and then expect them to be happy and want to obey us? Like anyone else, I just treat them the way that I want to be treated.
