Pet care experience
Providing a calm human presence for a stress-free environment in your pets' own home. ~ I have been a semi-professional house sitter and pet sitter for dogs, cats, rabbits, and more since 2012. My first experience owning a pet was when I brought two kittens home in 2007, and connected immediately to the understanding of animals' behavior. I am a sensitive person and I have found that pets are extremely receptive to my calm presence. This allows them to respond calmly and feel safe and cared for, resulting in excellent, personalized pet care experiences. I have worked with clients ranging from having 1 cat, all the way to 5 large dogs. My clients consistently express how pleased they are to come home and find their pets notably calmer, happier, and less anxious after I visit.

Jonathan was a great dog and house sitter. I had never left my dog for more than a few days prior but Jonathan helped but my mind at ease when he house sat for 10 days. He was great at communicating enough to let me know he and the dog were happy, but also helped me stay present on my trip/not always thinking about what was going on at home. Came home to a happy tired pup and a clean house.
Jon was able to come by and take care of our senior dog while we were on a last minute trip—his calm demeanor and attention to detail was much appreciated!

When I am with clients' pets, my priority is safety and attentiveness. I am able to provide care overnight at clients' homes to ensure there is a calming presence around pets who experience separation anxiety or simply have lots of energy! I have also had professional working experience as a house cleaner, so I understand being respectful of your home and environment. Note - If you need care for an aging pet, I have plenty of experience in working with elderly animals and feel it is an honor to share in this period of their life.

A typical day
I love working with cats - far from the stereotype of self-centered and aloof, I have found that cats benefit from having an attentive, gentle human presence at home. I am happy to meet your cat where their energy is at- with play or with calm. I let dogs' personalities guide our activities- if they have energy to get out, usually this means fetch, tug-of-war, and exploring the neighborhood. I'm also happy to spend time together playing in the yard or just sitting around "talking"!
