College professional loves hikes

Pet care experience

My name is Jonathan and I've owned up to three dogs in my life. From a Dachsund, Black Lab, and Golden Retriever. I enjoy getting dogs their exercise through daily walks, which in turn, helps me with my own daily exercise too. I avidly hike in and around Covington, WA and I know a lot of the parks here in town, and best places to walk your furry companion(s). I'm empathic which allows me to pick up on feelings quite well, and I can tell and understand when not only humans but animals are either feeling lonely, depressed, etc. I enjoy dogs of any breed, and they take a liking to me pretty quick too. Our furry companions are just like children, they crave love and attention - and I love giving them attention and playing with them as well. We can learn a lot from each other.

For as long as I've known Jonathan he has been responsible and on time. He has always gone out of his way to help and learn. He takes whatever he does seriously and he dedicates himself to it. I highly recommend him and think he'd be a great addition to the team.

I worked with Jon on a few group projects while we were in school together early in 2016. During that time, he proved that he was incredibly driven to both finish projects quickly and with a high degree of quality. His motivation is the kind that reveals the character of the people he's working with; some will be motivated to work harder while others will abuse his driven attitude and lazily let him do their work. Regardless, he's one of the most responsible people I've ever met and I know he would bring that sense of responsibility to any job he does.

Information Jonathan S. would like to know about your pet

What is his/her favorite toy(s) and/or treats? Is he/she potty trained? Is your companion friendly around new people and/or other animals in public? Does he/she have any medication that needs to be administered orally at a given time schedule, and how is it administered? (in food, or given straight). I don't have any breed preferences, I love all dogs big or small.

A typical day

Dogs will enjoy a fun walk around the neighborhood, and any local parks that aren't too far from your residence. If your companion has any toys that he/she cares to play with, those will be incorporated with the walks/check-ins as well. I find that development of motor skills, even through playing a simple game of fetch or hide and go-seek, helps a dog to establish their relationship with a sitter/trainer as well as establishing muscle memory when an item is tossed or fetched. I love hikes and walks almost as much as dogs do, but I make sure to stay by their side on walks and to keep the walks at an even pace that isn't rushed by either partner (myself or the animal). Even for quick check-ins I'll use toys that your companion likes to play with, and if you need to me feed the animal and take care of any bathroom duty, I'll do that as well of course.
