Hello! We are Jon and Lauren, an active couple here in Portsmouth looking for some awesome dogs to spend time with. Maggie was Lauren’s Chesapeake Bay Retriever / Lab that passed last year and while we aren’t ready to be full time dog parents again we miss having a buddy to take hiking, swimming at the lake or beach walks. Jon works from home and he also misses having a friend during the day to bounce ideas off of. Jon had two chocolate labs growing up, Mocha and Caramel, affectionately known as the “the girls.” We live in a town home in Portsmouth with direct access to a nice large grass area for fetch. Lauren is up early 4 days a week on her way to the hospital where she puts people to sleep every day. She typically takes the pup out and feeds in the morning. Jon’s mornings are slower, but when he gets up he will take the dog out and play a bit before starting his work day from the kitchen where he works to help create more renewable energy. In between meetings and phone calls Jon is able to do potty breaks and a mid day walk or two around the neighborhood. In the evening when the weather is nice we like to do beach walks and bring our buddy with us. We have a town home with direct access to a large grass area where we can play with your pup. We are happy to care for your dog in a similar way you do at home. If that means a crate at night we are happy to oblige. If she/he likes to sleep in the bed room we can accommodate that too! We generally don’t allow pets on the furniture or bed, although have been known to fall victim to puppy dog eyes. We believe dogs need to be exercised regularly and shouldn’t be left home alone for more then a couple hours. We like to go on dog friendly adventures on the weekends and have vehicles that can accommodate large animals.
