My name is Jonathan Kirby (most people call me "Kirby"). I'm born and raised in the Metro Baton Rouge area. I'm ecstatic to get into this field of work. It's a dream of mine to make money at something I've done and enjoyed most of my life. I have cared for all kinds of animals since I was a small child. My mother was a professional dog groomer for some time around when I was born. My family has had dogs my whole life, as well as many experiences with rescues - good and bad. After a few rescues came and went from the Kirby household, finally my mother adopted Gypsy, our mixed terrier breed dog whom we unltimately had for 13 years before her death in 2014. Shortly thereafter we adopted her, we bred Gypsy to a mixed bull terrier with whom she'd bred once before, and she made way for our second family dog, Levi, along with his four brothers and sisters. That was Gyp's second litter of pups. Then around my age of 9, I finally got to feel a presence in helping. Mom and I oversaw the birth of Gypsy's 3rd litter of puppies and finding them all homes. Shortly thereafter, Mom decided we did well enough to start breeding my grandparents' Yorkies for a profitable trade and investment, and we welcomed and raised 3 litters of pups before, right as we were adopting away the last of them, Mom unfortunately passed away of cancer related causes in 2008. I was aged 13. Until 21 I exclusively pursued music and songwriting, but between 2016 and 17, I studied to be a veterinary assistant online and earned a certificate from Ashworth College. So lemme take care of your doggos please! 🙏 I'm very good at it, and I love it! I have a heart and soul and even a scar or two that shows it. 😂 I will love getting to know them and you, and I hope you've come to like me as well. ♥️ Anyway, my availability right now is to do overnight stays and drop-ins as well as scheduled walks. I will care for all breeds of dogs as well as cats and more animals. I have experience with pit bulls and other guardian breeds (rottweiler,Mastiff,German shepherd, etc).
