From the day I was born I have always been around animals, and have looked after animals for many years now. I have had pets — little and large — all my life. I have two diplomas in animal care and animal management. And with the tied-in experience of my partner who has cared for many dogs and has a history of cats, dogs and parrots, we both have raised 2 beautiful cockerspaniels, one almost a year old male and the other being a 6 year old female and a parrot who is the voice of the family, yes he does speak and gives himself kisses in the mirror. Your furry family member is in the best hands. There is always someone at home, with myself a full time house dad and my partner dropping in and out during the day depending on her counselling schedule with clients, we are a very active household. Pet care is a full time commitment for us, I make sure they are well-fed and they have ultimate access to the garden and playtime (yes I do the weird high pitched voice). Our two dogs will get 1-2 walks per day depending on how far we go as we all live next to a nature reserve which offers amazing space for exercise. Safety is definitely important to us, as bring home an 8 week old puppy, we have had to puppy proof the home. Our garden is fenced, baby gate at our parrots room (yes he has his own room and our dogs loves sitting at the gate to peer in), we also live close to a nature reserve for nice long walks usually between 1-2 hours weather permitting or a small local park should it be too wet down by the reserve. We make our own pet food with fresh ingredients for all the dietary needs any dog will need but within reason we must understand the dogs we take care of, i.e. weight, breed, allergies, medical history and would advise providing food they are used to with information of your portionings, times of feed and any supplements like treats etc to ensure we are sticking to your routine.
