Experienced Emergency Vet Tech

Pet care experience

Dogs have been the focus of nearly my entire adult life. I've worked as a veterinary technician for over thirty years, sixteen of those in emergency and specialty medicine. I'm one of fewer than five hundred veterinary technicians who are board-certified in emergency medicine in the world, and am a member of the Academy of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Technicians. In my free time I love to run, hike, am a Search and Rescue K-9 Handler with King County Search and Rescue and I teach courses in canine first aid at all levels. I love nothing more than to go out for a run, toss a ball, or just roll around on the ground with a new canine friend. I'm happy to come to your place for 30 minutes to keep a quiet, older dog company, or go for a longer hike on local trails if you prefer. With my veterinary medical background, I'm extremely comfortable working with geriatric dogs and those with chronic medical conditions, and I can get a pill into the wiliest of canines.

Information Jon W. would like to know about your pet

I want to know what that dog loves...what makes them click. Are they all about love and cuddles? Do they just need exercise? Or all they all about the ball? Personally, because of the volunteer work I do I'm partial to herding breeds and have a young Belgian Malinois, but professionally I have no breed preferences. I love 'em all, from Yorkshires to Danes and everything in between,

A typical day

I'm happy to go for walks on the street, to off lead parks, or to arrange longer outings to local hikes, all dependent on your preferences. I'm pretty high energy, and haven't yet met the dog I can't tire out and have fun doing it.
