LOVING, CARING and FULL OF ENERGY

Pet care experience

Since growing up without my own dog I was always seeking for opportunities to play with them or take care of them! This is when early on in my childhood I started taking care of various dogs. Later on I worked as a nanny for several families who also had little furr babies. We had Frank who’s a young and playful but also at times lazy Corgi. Lily who’s sadly in heaven by now, but during my time with her she was the most gentle and loving Chesapeake Lab. Due to her age and hip problems our walks were rather short and steady and I provided her with medicine when needed. Daisy is an older Spitz who was playful as a puppy and we went on many long walks! Lastly I took care of a boxer puppy, Jax, who was the personification of the word WILD. A young puppy with the height and strength of a grown up. He was definitely a lot too handle but we made it work after getting to know each other and enjoyed a lot of good walks. Since he was a puppy we went through all the stages: potty training, walking on a leash, no counter jumping, food management, gentleness… and so on!

Safety, trust & environment

My husband and I currently live in an apartment and only have a cat who’s very accustomed to our space. It is always my first priority to make the pet feel safe and comfortable. Although there are a few ground rules that I follow. Those are either mine or given by the client. For example, as much as I want the pet to feel homey and happy, stealing food from the counter or jumping on certain furniture is not allowed. There are NO physical punishment ever.

Information Jolene N. would like to know about your pet

Let me know beforehand of any specials behaviors or needs as well as restrictions or rules you have implemented. Are there any neighboring dogs that are not friends with yours? Any routes that will trigger a negative response? Or a favorite walking path? Any tips would be super appreciated to make this a pleasant experience!

A typical day

There are tons of activities I would do with the dog depending on its personality. Do we have an energetic crazy puppy I will be sure to include a lot of fetch and towing play. A little older but still energetic? We will go on a long nice walk and run around a bit. Not as fit in the legs? We will go on a more calm walk and focus on all the smells and noises. Either way, I want the dogs to always be stimulated with their senses and be as happy as can be!
