Dog Trainer and dedicated Foster!
Pet care experience
I run a cleaning business and care for animals, I'm home all day just about. Taking care of my animals and working on home projects. I grew up on a farm and always surrounded by animals and especially dogs, given my own 8 week old at the age of 9 to raise, train, and care for on my own. He grew up never walking with a leash, excellent recall, and loved every dog/human/cat he met. Growing up I also helped my parents with the care and training of their dogs at least 7 times over! I've always had a passion and deep connection to animals, abused/neglected or special needs dogs being my niche. I've rescued 4 dogs from inadequate and abusive homes myself. Two are my personal kids one has nerve and brain damage she's from an abusive home as well, while the other is deaf her background largely unknown. One of the other rescues was a foster and is now in her forever home, with updates on how she is! With all the exposure to different breeds comes with exposure to different illness and ailments. Having this knowledge I have correctly diagnosed problems with friends, customers, and coworkers dogs. Some without ever meeting the dog! I always suggest still seeking professional diagnosis, but it gives them an idea of what to expect and also ask for testing of. I provide advice of what can be done at home to help as well, such as supplements and exercise adjustment/physical therapy options. I've been around for the birth of a few litters so I have newborn experience as well as raising a handful of dogs beyond 8weeks old! I've worked in a few shelters doing various work. In one I worked with the difficult dogs and feral cats, preparing them for adoption. For a few cases I did follow up home visits to check on the welfare of the animals, happy to report loving homes with perfect families! The other shelter I simply did kennel attendant, letting them outside and cleaning the kennel, feeding, walking. I also will be starting a program soon to become a certified dog trainer, specializing in reactive dogs and service dog training! I have a few friends who have enlisted my help in training their dogs both in general behaviors and reactive behaviours. I also have experience with higher aggression dogs, I've been able to split apart dog fights effectively with minimal to no damage to either dog. Have also successfully diffused or intercepted possible fights with loose dogs on walks. Unfortunately too many people don't contain their dogs properly but I assure you that your pet will be safe from harm with me!
Reviews
Jolene has been amazing! She's helped take care of our dog a few times now. Our dog loves her and I trust her to take care of him!
Jolene is great! She took great care of my cat and had really good communication. I look forward to having her as my go to sitter.
Jolene was great! She watched my puppy Scout for an in-home daycare while I was visiting in town for work. She kept me updated throughout the day and I knew Scout was happy and well cared for. I'll definitely book again when I'm in town again.
Jolene did amazing with Boog once again. Jolene is great at giving us updates we will definitely be back!

I have a fenced yard as well as a large 20ft by 60ft dog run. Two friendly dogs to keep your pets company. We have a large indoor kennel with a big bed if anyone's needs some alone time. We live 5 minutes away from Bartfield at ISU which is where I take my girls to play. As well as 5 minutes away from Old Town Bark Park if you prefer a gated environment! I own a large minivan with the seats removed for ample room for transport as well. Now stoked with 100 ft leads for safe freedom in large areas! We come well stocked with all natural treats and if your baby has special needs I'm experienced in giving oral medication, shots, and physical therapy. I can also offer basic grooming and nail trimming if the dog is comfortable with it.

At Bartsfield my girls go off leash as well as hikes, let me know your dogs recall capabilities and if/when you're comfortable with them being off leash to play with the girls. Long lead option now available for secure freedom! We have three cats total in the house so visiting pets must be friendly.
A typical day
We have many toys in house and outside, soon the dog run will be astroturfed and a few in ground tug toys installed. I also regularly take my girls to the park, for hikes, or to the dog park! Bartfield by ISU is our favorite park along with Red Hill as an In-town hike, and Old Town Bark Park for a fenced area! All within 5 mins of our home for easy access and all day fun!

Owning two dogs and two cats puts me doing alot of animal care and I love it. My dogs are also Blue Heelers so they come with alot of energy and interaction needs, they'd love to meet new friends to play with!! I've worked in shelters before as well to get that extra bit of animal love. I'm also a foster house so I'm always up for taking on more animals, providing them with a safe loving environment.
