I’m a middle-aged American who’s been traveling almost nonstop for over 10 years. I’ve been house and pet-sitting for the last nine years, with 151 different sits on another website, and many repeat stays. I’m happy, eager really, to share my 117 glowing reviews from that site with you. I sit for many hosts repeatedly and it’s very flattering that some of them, now friends, plan their travel around my availability. I have done sits in 24 countries for all kinds of pets and farm animals. Even anxious and nervous animals quickly become comfortable with me. I think they can sense what an animal lover I am. Also, I think it helps that I’m quiet, consistent and around the house with them a great deal of the time. I love all kinds of animals and I’m very comfortable with special requirements and needs, different diets and keeping to a schedule in administering medications. I’m an easy-going, reading and writing, taking a walk and listening to music kind of guy. I consider myself very grateful after many years of very long days and nights in stressful, high-tech management jobs to have found something I love as much as what I’m doing now.

John is an amazing sitter, I would highly recommend him! It was our first time getting a sitter for our dog, who is very nervous and has some unique quirks/challenges. We felt very comfortable leaving her with John and he provided us with plenty of updates while we were away for 1.5 weeks. John is also very friendly and tidy and our dog had a great time with him.
John was very amenable to walking Marvin and Astro (2 month old foster pup) and accommodating their different personalities. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!

I want to continue traveling, so for the foreseeable future I’m not really interested in hosting pets in my home. I was a senior manager/executive for many years and I’ve run large organizations. I’m reliable and will follow whatever routine a host desires. I’m good at following directions and not shy about asking questions. I would take very good care of your loved ones and your home. I believe my 115 reviews, all five-stars, on another well-known pet and housesitting site reinforce that promise. Of course, I am very happy to share those reviews with you.

I have been lucky enough to have well over 140 sits. I know what to ask and how to handle situations that may arise. Some things to always discuss include daily routines, pet preferences, meds, how often hosts want updates and pictures, and where the vet is located.
A typical day
A typical day? That depends on what the hosts prefer, need and expect for their home and pets. I am easy-going and comfortable being busy all-day with gardening, for example and long walks with a dog or, less often, a cat. Or, sometimes there is a lot of downtime. Great. I like to alternate, as I also do with city stays and being out in the countryside.

Availability
From time to time, I take on some online work, but always with the a 100% flexible schedule or I don’t do it. Also, I saved my airline points and miles for years, and can also fly very cheaply thanks to family connections. So, I have a lot of flexibility in traveling and arranging visits and sits in many different places. I love to travel!
