Hi pet people! Having grown up around dogs and cats for most of my life I've gained a deep love and understanding for our furry friends, often preferring their company over that of our own species. I first started caring for the pets of my friends, neighbors and family in high school, and now as a recent college graduate (UVa 2017, go Hoos!) I have some extra time on my hands, a lack of pets in my life, and an eagerness to make some extra cash on the side (thank you, student loans!) I have experience with dogs of all ages, mostly small to medium in size but I can handle larger breeds as well. Of the senior dogs I've cared for, some had special needs or medical conditions that required close attention, and every one of them stole my heart with the gentle love and affection only an oldtimer can provide. Walking, running, romps in the park or the backyard are all in my wheelhouse, and I'd like to think these activities are as beneficial to me as they are to your dog! I have experience house sitting for up to a week, though I'm more comfortable with the timeframe of a weekend or a few days. When my work schedule allows extended stays I will be very attentive to your pets needs, able to spend large chunks of time at the residence, and ensure that I leave the space as clean and organized as when I first walk though the door. While my experience is primarily with dogs, I am comfortable with cats and other pets including birds, ferrets, and reptiles. My work schedule is fairly flexible so I often have time on weekdays from midday-afternoon for walks and check-ins, even on short notice. Excited to meet you and your pets and I hope you are too!
