Pet care experience
Our serene home is in Hicksville/off South Oyster Bay Rd and Old Country Road. My wife and I are caring and responsible dog owners (who work from and are at home everyday). We have cared for many dogs over the past twenty years. We love caring for and playing with dogs and will treat your dogs like our own. Our yard is fully fenced, in a nice neighborhood for walks. We do require a meet and greet prior to sitting your dog to make sure we are a match. Our dogs are a mini poodle and a golden retriever and they get along great and love other dogs. Our weekends are usually open. Walks are usually early am, afternoon and after dinner. Dogs sleep in their crates or doggie beds in our large bedroom. Snacks are given if you allowed, and if your dog has a favorite treat, we'll accommodate. We do ask that bring your dogs favorite food. We do require all vaccines to be up to date, and that you have a flea and tick preventive in use of your choice. Please advise of times for eating, and or snacks. We also give medication, both oral and injected if this is needed. Dogs are like people and have great personalities. My wife also loves dogs and is home always to assist with your dog. We have lots of doggie toys and treats. We are very patient, and you can rest easy that your dogs are being taken care of very well. While you are away We will respond to text messages to check on your dogs as we know your furry child is a very special member of your family. You will be completely at ease with your dogs care.

John and Carole were great with Scooter, our Golden Retriever. Our Goldens seemed to get along great. He sent just enough pictures to ease my mind while we were away. I don’t know how you did it with 2 large dogs John, but thank you for everything, last minute changes and all.

John and his family were wonderful. Sadie was very comfortable in their home and was taken very good care of. She got along with john’s dog Murphy quite well. Very positive experience for all.
We are absolutely thrilled to have met John and Carol and highly recommend them as your next doggy-sitter! We were going on our honeymoon and needed someone to take care of our 4yr old border collie, Ellington. Being a border collie, she has a lot of energy and needs extra stimulation and playtime. Plus, we work from home so she is accustomed to rarely being on her own. This caused us some anxiety, since we are very attached and wanted to make sure she was in the best hands. The moment we met John and Carol we felt relaxed and very lucky, knowing this was the perfect home for her! First of all, they are such warm and friendly people and have many years of experience taking care of dogs. Their adorable dog, Murphy, instantly became Ellington's best friend and it was so reassuring to know that not only was she is the best care of two wonderful people, but she also had the perfect playmate to spend hours playing with. John made sure to take down all of our instructions- from diet to walking habits and would send us updates and photos everyday so we could see how she is., Even though there was a snowstorm while we were away, he still took the dogs for long walks everyday! They have a lovely fenced backyard where the dogs would run and play as well. They allowed her to sleep in their bedroom and really made her feel like she is part of the family! She loved them and when she was back with us, we could tell how much she missed them. Thanks again John and Carol for taking such great care of Ellington! We will definitely be bringing her back again!

I would like to ask the owner as to what the dog likes or dislikes and any special requirements of the dogs. Times for eating, and or snacks. Does your pet walk well on a leash or prefer to be supervised in our fenced in backyard. What would make your dog feel right at home in my house.

I love taking the dogs on walks and playing with them with toys or if a dog is older making sure that its needs are provided for and they are allowed to rest and get age appropriate amount of activity. I will make sure that your dog is treated the same manner as he/she he would be in your home. Our best friends deserve the royal treatment
