I was a proud Siberian Husky parent for 9 amazing years, so I know all about tantrums and stubbornness. I loved every bit of that. I'm pretty much ready for anything, be it running, walking, special diets, timed medications, you name it. I'm confident in this because I had to do same things in my household. I'm patient and I respect attitudes of individual dogs. Some pups like to explore, others want their walk to be familliar. Some like their favorite toys to be shared, others are a little greedy. Every pup is unique and I definitely appreciate it. Usually, I like to see if the pup will warm up to me. If not, I give them their space until they do and it works out pretty well.
