Work from home Dad. Have owned dogs our entire lives and have recently lost our last one. Our dogs have always been a special part of our lives and we have been a part of theirs. We like to play nicely with them and give them running room to work off the excess energy. Realize they are just like kids and need lots of patience and understanding and exercise. Have large backyard to chase balls, Frisbee or sticks. Or just loaf around and enjoy the outside. Yard is not entirely fenced in so cannot have dogs that will try to escape. Never hit or yell at them. Fear is not a motivating factor in improving behavior. Dogs and cats we have had together at times and they all learn to play together.
