Pet care experience
When you hire me, you and your pets are my priority. I’m “that person” who dogs always come up to in public & I always take a moment to say, “hi”. My parents raised show dogs when I was a child. I’ve lived my entire life with pets. I’ve owned and taken care of; dogs (all sizes) cats, birds, fish, rodents, birds and horses! I was a pet sitter in CA, for several years and am looking forward to starting to do it again here in and near Dunedin. I’m happy taking care of puppies to seniors. Currently our youngest is 2 and our oldest is 11.

Joellen was fantastic. I was more than a bit apprehensive as I had not left my dog with a sitter previously, but she quickly eased my stress with frequent updates and photos. She did a wonderful taking care of my little guy and I highly recommend her.
I've known Joellen for many years. She is a devoted and responsible pet owner. I have trusted her many times to care for my beloved pets and would do so again without hesitation. Her love and compassion for animals are remarkable. I absolutely recommend her to anyone who loves their pets!
JoEllen is amazing! We have pretty large dogs (each over 100lbs) and she is great with them. JoEllen provides our fur babies with an over abundance of love and is able to get them to happily listen to her. I highly recommend her.

Please note, I don’t charge extra for spending the day if I’m spending the night. We’ve found most sitters do. I am happy to stay with your pets while you’re gone 90% of the time if that’s what you desire. I know that’s what we like when we need a sitter. One of the reasons I’ve decided to get back into pet sitting is we’ve had a difficult time finding a sitter that suits our needs. I can’t imagine I’m the only one! My professional background is as a business owner in the arts, nonprofit and professional industries. You can trust I’m trustworthy. I do not drink or smoke and I do not wear any fragrances. Photography is a hobby of mine. I’ll send you multiple photos a day so you feel secure that all is fine while you’re away.

Please let me know before our first meeting if your dog has any allergies to food. Also let me know if there are any personality traits I should be aware of. I have a list of information for you to provide to make sure all the bases are covered. Feeding times, vet info etc.
A typical day
I am not a dog walker. We will play (in your yard) and provide mental stimulation with fetch, tug or any game you like. There will be lots of loves and butt scratches too! I’ve taken many dog obedience classes and am skilled at making your dogs feel secure while you’re gone. No need to be worried about having other people come to your home while you’re gone. I take my business as a caregiver very seriously.

Availability
I am semi-retired and live with my husband, 3 large dogs and our cat in beautiful Dunedin. My husband works from home, so I’m free to share my time and love with your furry family members as needed. I do not take other jobs when I’m working for you. I will only stay two nights or my own “kids” will miss me too much.
