Pet care experience
Hello! My names Joel and I just moved to San Antonio from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. About 6 years ago, I started helping out my aunt with house/dogsitting her 2 Rhodesian ridge backs. This kickstarted my part time dog watching career, as I gradually built up different clients over the next 6 years! My first client had a rescue dog named Rupert who had extreme anxiety, and was terrified of new people. When I first started, he wouldn’t even stay in the same room as me. So I spent the next 2 months stopping over and spending time with him, just to gain his trust. By the end of the 2 months, he would rush to the door when I came over, and wouldn’t leave my side! I had made a new friend! Through word of mouth, I acquired a handful of different clients, and made many more furry friends. I’ve done everything from overnight stays/house sitting for multiple weeks, to daily walks and stop ins. I have a wide array of experience taking care of various types of dogs, from small dogs and puppies, to 125 lb Bernese mountain dogs. As well as cats, as I have 3 of my own! I can’t wait to get to know your pet!

Joel took care of my two cats for a week while we were out of town and did a fantastic job! One of my cats is very social but the other is quite apprehensive around new people, yet somehow he found a way to coax her out. I found him to be reliable, responsible and trustworthy with my fur babies as well as my home. I would not hesitate hiring him again and give him the highest recommendation. You won't be disappointed.
Joel stayed at my house and took care of my cat when I was out of town for an extended period. I’d definitely recommend Joel. He is responsible and I felt like both my cat and my home were in good hands.

My plan is to avoid taking dogs into my home, as I have a blind cat who would be terrified! I’ll be asking questions and open to communication on any special instructions or needs that your pet may have. I have a large amount of experience taking care of rescue dogs with different problems from the past that require a lot of attention and care, such as administering oral medications, and leash aggression on walks.

Let me know your dogs behavior on walks, around different people, and different animals. Also, if the dog has any medications, certain feeding routines, and any other specified needs. I want to make sure I have any information needed to ensure your dog feels comfortable and safe!
A typical day
My goal is to give your pet the best mental stimulation and exercise that they need while their parent(s) are gone! Whether that’s taking them on multiple walks, taking them out in the yard, or playing with their favorite toys! Im not familiar with parks in the area, but would love to use this as an opportunity to explore different parks on dog walks, if so desired!
