Pet care experience
I love dogs. Growing up, my mom always had boxers; many boxers, and a great Dane, and the random Cairn Terrier (who I now love like my child.) To me, dogs are a part of the joy of life, the essence of being free, and the nature of companionship. Since I moved to the city, I haven't been able to have a dog (or dogs, let's be real) because of apartment restrictions and the like, so believe me when I say, "I've been yearning for some quality dog-time." I look forward immensely to meeting, playing, walking, running and generally chillin' with your special pup. I'm 28 years old, I'm a musician; I play guitar, write songs, and produce music, and I'm looking to go to graduate school sometime in the near future to become a teacher. Joel was awesome! He stayed at my place with my Nala. Sent plenty of updates and left my place spotless. I could tell he really enjoyed being with Nala and taking care of her. She was happy and well taken when I got home. I will be using him again in the future and would recommend to anyone!
We met with Joel 3 weeks prior to our leaving . Kenai took to Joel just as soon as he found out Joel can also kick his favorite ball. While we were away we got updates with pictures . Would definitely recommend Joel !
I could not have asked for a better dog/house sitter! Joel sent us daily updates and pictures. Our dog, Penelope, was clearly well cared for. The house was neat and tidy (could hardly tell he was there!) upon return. I really appreciate the peace of mind. I would definitely recommend Joel!
Joel has house/dog sat for me at least 15-20 times spanning a period of about five-seven years. The first thing I can say about Joel is that he is dependable. He ALWAYS showed up, on time, when he agreed to and did exactly what was asked of him. The length of housesitting might have been for a weekend up to three weeks. I also hired him on many, many other occasions to walk the dogs during the day. So, the caring side of Joel...the dogs were always excited to see him. Joel has a very calm, loving nature. He also has a very playful side with the dogs and an ability to handle challenging situations. He took care of our young, energetic, huge Great Dane, our wild, playful young Boxer and the little Cairn Terrier. Joel is a gentle, kind, considerate, responsible person. I would highly recommend him to take good, loving, responsible care of your dogs. The only negative is that he moved to Portland and we've had to find a new dog walker/sitter!!

I live across from Wallace park, which is very dog friendly. They have a dog park (completely optional, I know some dogs or owners have mixed feelings.) There's also a large field for throwing a ball. I live in close proximity to Macleay Park which is a great dog-friendly trail. I will be receptive to you and your dogs needs whatever they are, and whichever activities are preferred.
