I’ve cared for pets my entire life. I grew up with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, even that weird teenage phase where I decided to adopt a rat. I am patient and can read your pet’s cues. If they hide, growl or bite, it is most likely my issue, not theirs, and I am quick to adjust. I married a wildlife biologist and we constantly discuss safest and best practices.

First off, Joel and his wife did an amazing job of caring for our home and precious animals for a week. Our animals are our life, we have a small farm and each animal here is both part of our family and an Integral part of our farm. I have been very anxious about leaving everything with anyone at all. We haven’t traveled more than overnight for a long time because of our animals. There are a lot of mouths to feed and water and keep safe. Our concerns faded away as Joel took extra time to come and go over all the routines and care prior to our leaving. Also kept us updated while we were away. Our farm includes 2 cats, 3 dogs, 4 horses and multiple chickens. Everyone was well taken care of! We could tell by all of their demeanors when we got home that they had all received plenty of attention, food, water, and my white dogs looked clean and brushed too! The house looked like we never left. My only hesitation in leaving a glowing review is that Joel will be booked up when we need him! 😉We can’t wait to get away again and would definitely call Joel! Highly recommend!Many thanks for taking such good care of everyone and everything!
Joel is such an unbelievably great sitter for our high-energy, high-maintenance pups. He was able to wrangle our 9-month-old malinois (NOT a job for the faint of heart) as well as our smaller but equally crazy 3-year-old mixed breed for four days without breaking a sweat! My husband and I felt super comfortable with him in our home and with our dogs; he's highly communicative, sends great pictures, and he and his wife are all-around great people. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
Joel took great care of my cat! Super knowledgeable and even gave me some care tips since I’m a first time cat owner! Sent pictures and great updates as well.
Joel has been my sitter for 5 years. I'm the type of person who thinks of my dogs as my kids and I'm very picky about who I let watch them, he's so great with them both. With my big german shepherd prone to allergies and my senior short-haired pointer being epileptic, Joel always makes sure they both get their own medicine on time. He's very attentive and you can tell he just genuinely loves animals. He can follow my strict training rules I have for my dogs when needed but he's also a big softie when it comes to giving them attention and cuddling with them. He's exactly the kind of person anyone would want to ensure their pets are safe, happy and loved.

Tehachapi and its surrounding areas is a wonderful place for dogs! The neighborhoods are always great for a walk, but sometimes it’s nice to visit a trail or park for more active dogs.

I work from home full-time and make my own schedule. I am pretty much always available unless already booked. I work as a writer (when my cats let me) and make extra income doing what I love - taking care of fur babies!
