Pet care experience
I moved to Charlotte last May and have ben exploring the City ever since with my dog. I always promise to have more energy and patience than your dog can consume. I volunteered as a dog walker at an animal shelter when I lived in Detroit and was given the “troublesome” dogs to walk, so I’ve seen almost all types. I’m comfortable around big dogs and small and familiar with the use of many different collars, leads, and harnesses (slip leads, pinch collars, training collars, gentle leaders; to name a few popular tools). I’m well versed in most outdoor footy activities and can throw a frisbee with the best of them. I adopted my current dog morgan when she was a puppy and we have worked diligently over the past 4 years on advanced training techniques and manners. Morgan is a well socialized, friendly female shepherd mix weighing in at about 70 lbs who loves to meet and play with dogs of all shapes, sizes, and ages. Her advanced training make her an excellent companion for dogs learning new skills, those who need more practice, or just to burn off some energy. If you’d like her to socialize with your dog please let me know ahead of time and we can set up a meet to let them get acquainted. I can also be trained in the habits and routines your dog is used to and will adhere to them diligently. Every dog has their quirks and their owners are the ones who know them best.

Imani and I had spent 8 hours in the truck driving to Charlotte and we were trying to get settled in a new place, so Imani was I’m rare form the day we met Joe. Imani (a 105lb, 14 month Ridgeback) was jumping and showing all of his worst tricks and Joe took it all in stride, redirecting his energy and loving on him all the same. He asked good questions about our routine and training so that he could maintain consistency. He’s flexible with scheduling and thorough with the day to day updates and report cards. He’s also clean and respectful of our new home. Imani is relaxed and comfortable about Joe which speaks volumes to me!! I can’t say enough good things about Joe and we are blessed to have found him while we’re here in Charlotte.
This was my first time using Rover or any similar service so I was a bit nervous about it to say the least. But Joe couldn't have been any better. He came over to my house before my trip to meet me and McKinley and he updated me with photos and other details for each visit. I can't speak for anyone else on this app, but I'll use Joe every time now.
Joe did a great job with Minion. He did a meet and greet to see what Minion likes and what he needed which is extra exercise. After the first walk he asked if there was anything I wanted him to work on with Minion and if I would like him to bring his dog to walk with Minion because he has been lonely since Covid. Minion was excited to see him and worn out after. Definitely will continue to book walks!
Joe is a very calm and responsible guy. He is very consistent and dependable in his duties and his communication. I've know him for years, and would trust him with anything! He has taken care of my dogs before and they love him! He takes amazing care of his own dog as well as any dog he comes into contact with.
