Pet care experience
I grew up with dogs as family pets since I was a kid and have cared for my own as an adult. In addition, I have been a dog-sitter on Rover since January 2023.
Reviews
Excellent care and Josie loved it. Frequent pictures were appreciated
Joe and his family were amazing at taking care of our dog for 5 days. He sent daily updates and photos and really took the effort to learn her quirks. He asked great questions and made good judgement calls. We will definitely be calling on Joe again to help dogsit, we know our baby is safe and happy with him!
Joe and his family took care of our lab for a week. He treated her like part of his family. Tons of walks, multiple daily updates through the app. He was quick to reply to any questions. Thank you Joe!
Joe was great with Kiki, he listened to her behaviors and didn't push to walk into areas where Kiki wasn't comfortable with. Highly recommend Joe to care for your dog. Thank you!

I have an enclosed, fenced yard with a gate where the dogs can have their potty breaks and there is plenty of greenspace for walks, which I take the dogs on 2-3 times a day.

Information Joe N. would like to know about your pet
These are some of the questions I will have about your dog when you reach out to me. 1. Has your dog ever bitten anyone? 2. Has your dog ever tried to escape? 3. Does your dog become aggressive when anxious? 4. Is your dog hyperactive and/or unable to settle down for at least a few hours at a time? *If the answer to any of the above questions is "yes," I cannot accept a booking with your dog, unfortunately. Other questions about your dog I will have during our Meet & Greet: • Has your dog been left with a sitter before? If so, how did that go? • Does your dog have any dietary issues or medical conditions? • Does your dog chew on shoes, cushions, furniture, etc? • Is your dog very anxious about new places and new people? If so, how is that anxiety expressed? (Excessive panting, skittishness, aggression, cowering, crying, barking, etc.) • Can your dog be left alone in the house for an hour or so without succumbing to anxiety or destructive behavior? (It is very rare for a dog in my care to be left alone at all, but not impossible.) • Can your dog settle down for a few hours between walks and backyard breaks or does your dog require more constant engagement? (Though they are playful and entertaining, I am not a good fit for high-energy dogs that can't settle for at least 2-3 hours at a time.)
A typical day
In a typical day, I'll let your dogs into the backyard for potty breaks several times a day; take them for walks on the nearby forested path at least twice a day; and play with them in the house with their toys.

I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer working from a home office in a quiet neighborhood with plenty of parks and a forested walking path nearby. My schedule is flexible enough to easily walk and care for a dog in a typical day.
