Pet care experience
My corgi Cooper and I are excited to meet you and your pup! I grew up with dogs my whole life and I consider myself a passionate dog person—I love to give dogs the attention and love they crave (and find their favorite scritch spot)! About 8 years ago, I adopted my first corgi, Piper, and embarked on the journey of building a lifelong canine companionship with her, and soon after with Cooper, my second corgi. I raised and trained both of them from puppyhood, and have gone through some very complicated care for them both (for example, unfortunately Piper developed a rare form of cancer that needed intensive care in her final year). As a result, I take the responsibility that comes with caring for another family’s doggo very seriously. I have worked both as a dog walker and dog sitter off and on over these past 8 years and have yet to meet a furball I don’t instantly fall in love with! Cooper and I would be thrilled to care for your canine family member(s) as if they were a member of our own.
Reviews
Our pup had a great stay with Joe! He was very communicative and sent a good number of photos/updates. Our dog seemed to really enjoy his visit, and we look forward to another stay!
Joe took great care of our little girl. Thanks again!
Joe was the best with my older dog Paco. I was able to go off and fulfill a work commitment knowing Paco would be well taken care of. Joe is very perceptive about dog behavior. Wonderful caring person.
Joe and Cooper were great. Bucky tugs me towards their front door, every time we pass on our walks now. He came home happy and healthy from his stay. Joe was communicative, flexible and easy to work with. Highly recommend.

I live in a spacious apartment with two floors and plenty of dog beds and toys scattered around the house, so your dog will be able to make themself right at home here. I can walk them and feed them as much as necessary and am happy to help with administering prescriptions or other medications if needed during their stay with me. I have a medium-sized crate if you’d prefer your dog to be crated for any reason. There are some nice little parks around me that are great for the dogs as well. My two roommates are also dog lovers and love to get in a little extra play time with pups that stay over. Your doggo will be well taken care of here!

Information Joe M. would like to know about your pet
I welcome any information that you feel is important to share about your pup before sitting. Of course, information on feeding and potty break schedules is critical, as well as preferences for sleeping, but if there’s a favorite type of toy or treat and things along those lines, I’m happy to work those into the stay to make it as enjoyable as possible! If there’s something important to know about triggers or sensitivities (such as loud sirens or bigger dogs or anything really!) don’t hesitate to let me know, so I can be sure your dog is as comfortable as possible!
A typical day
We’ll start the day with a brisk morning walk around Somerville to check on all the new smells and get in a post-sleep potty break and then inside for breakfast chow down. Throughout the day, we’ll have a mix of lounging time and tug-of-war or catch with your dog’s favorite toy, and more outdoor strolls as needed. Then we’ll settle down for the night with dinner and a final pee/poop break before bed and I’ll tuck your furry companion in the way they like best - a cool, dark, den-like crate; on the floor with a comfy fluffy bed; or on the bed if that’s their preference! Then to the next day to do it all over again!

I am a full-time doctoral student, which makes my schedule relatively flexible, considering I set my own schedule most days. As a result, I am happy to make a point to spend extra time at home if need be while caring for your fur baby.
