Pet care experience
My wife (Kay) and I have been around dogs for over 20 years, with family pets of Springer Spaniels, Collies, Westies and now an engergetic and mischevious 3 year old German Shorthaired Pointer, Max. With this we have experienced everything from new born puppies, to very senior dogs... and everything in between. As such, we like to think we are adept with giving medication, managing changing behaviours and the fun that comes with it all. Family and friends will regularly call on us for walks and additional support, as well as boarding or sitting.
Reviews
I had no concerns leaving Sunny overnight for the first time with Joe and their dog, Max. Great communication prior to booking and sent me photos while I was away. Sunny can be a bit of a handful as she's still only young but I felt confident that Joe would look after her well. Thanks Joe!
From the moment we dropped Henry off at Joe's, I knew we'd left our pup in a safe pair of hands. Joe is relaxed but firm and you can tell he adores dogs. We had regular photos and honest updates throughout the week. Henry is a beagle puppy and he can be excitable and stubborn but Joe took no nonsense from him and neither did Max if he overstepped boundaries. I would 100% book Joe again
Tavy, our somewhat mischievous terrier had an amazing time staying with Joe. We loved the fact that Joe kept us updated and he seems to have a genuine love of all dogs. By all accounts Tavy selltled in well, and hopefully has a home from home now. We are so glad we have found him and will be using his services again.
Samarra had a great time with Joe, he sent pics of her playing with other dogs and running in the river with Joes own dog and having a great time. I would recommend Joe to look after your dog. I will definitely be using him again.

Safety, trust & environment
We have a fenced garden, which will allow for time and space outside in the warmer months. Max is crate trained overnight, but we dont expect that from others and would happily have guests on the sofa or a bed by our own if needed. Overall though, Kay and I are aware that dogs left with us need to be comfortable to ensure the best for them... as well you as the owner, having left them in our care. As such, we will aim to meet your requirements as best we can and ensure that your dog is very much part of our family for the time they spend with us.

Information Joe D. would like to know about your pet
Rather than state things which are important for me to know generically, I would prefer to meet briefly before any stay to discuss the specifics that you/your dog may have around behaviours and contact.
A typical day
The typical day would be a good hours walk in the morning, then breakfast. After that, we would do a little training (simple commands mainly) before I start work. A mid morning snooze will be ended by some more play/a juicy bone to chew and quick leg stretch before some time to chill out. Once my work is completed we will go for another good walk and then dinner and relaxing for the rest of the evening.

Availability
I have a relatively flexible working pattern, so can adapt as needed to suit requirements, but predominantly work from home on 3 interchangable days a week and am available over weekends. As previously stated, our GSP Max, is a very energetic boy, so we are out on long walks twice a day. We also try and take regular breaks in the day for training/play. Week day walks are in local wildlife parks or along the river, with weekend walks further afield. We are 2 minutes from the M5 for passing drop offs and within 20 minutes of Dartmoor, beaches and woodland options.
