Durham Pet Lover!
Pet care experience
I’m a true pet lover! My family always had dogs growing up and I got my first rescue as soon as I became an adult. As a teen, I worked at a vet’s and was the neighborhood pet caretaker. Over the years, I have enjoyed fostering dogs and cats. I am comfortable giving medications and working with senior pets. My personal dogs ranged in sizes from 5lbs (toy poodle mix) to 130lbs (Great Dane). I love taking my dogs to obedience training and am passionate about the human/animal bond. Currently, I am the volunteer coordinator for my hospital’s dog therapy program. In addition to 2 lazy cats, I have one chill dog. I look forward to adding your pup to the mix!
Reviews
Jodie was awesome with Andrei. He seemed right at home immediately and loved the nice spacious fenced in yard. Jodie was very attentive, made sure she knew what my dog's routine was and what he needed while he was there. Best Rover sitter!
Jodie provided a worry free experience for Roxy on our weekend getaway, she met her needs and understood when she needed space and calm down time. Communication with Jodie was excellent and I would highly recommend her for taking care of your dog.
Wonderful petsitter!
Jodie is an excellent person and has a lot of experience taking care of pets. She is responsible, reliable, trustworthy and able to quickly take action if something unexpected happens with a pet. She is very knowledgable and I always go to her first when I have a question about my dog. Many years ago I adopted a dog that she was fostering. She is loving with all animals and like I said, is very knowledgable as well. I highly recommend her as a pet caregiver and have absolutely no reservations.

Safety, trust & environment
We are a relaxed household and it is not unusual to see both cats and the dog on the couch with me! We go on walks, go to restaurants and take trips places. We are a happy family and look forward to adding a fun companion to our group! If your pup needs a lot of exercise, needs a doggy playmate, or is aggressive to cats, this probably is not the best fit. We are a snuggly, loving, and quiet home that welcomes new doggy guests!

Information Jodie S. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know how to best take care of your pet. Do they have any fears I should know about? What kind of interaction do they like? Any food/resource guarding? Any particular foods/treats you do not want them to have? Any leash reactivity? What is their schedule and what has worked best for them in new environments? Do they like rides in the car? Going out to new places? Walks in the woods? I want boarding to be a fun and enjoyable experience for them, and the more information, the better.
A typical day
Potty breaks in the back yard (I make sure they go out before and after work) and then walks/outings in the evenings and weekends. This depends on your dog’s wants and needs. I’ve had couch potatos and activity seekers! Lots of snuggles and love when I’m home. Maybe some trick/obedience training or brushing if your pup enjoys those activities as well. I try to go by what each dog wants to do on their vacation!

I work outside of the home Mon-Fri. My animals use a pet door to explore our fenced in large yard. If you are not comfortable with a pet door, no problem! I am happy to monitor potty/play breaks. I can also crate your pup if that’s what they are most comfortable with. My pets are allowed on the furniture and sleep on the bed, but I totally understand if you do not want your pup to get into the habit. If you own cats and a dog, It can work out well to take care of your cat(s) at your home and your dog at mine.
