Former dog rescuer to your rescue!
Pet care experience
When I was growing up, we had a variety of pets in our family - dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, turtles and birds. In 2004, I started a rescue for shelter dogs in need. At times, I would have as many as 15 dogs in my personal care in my home. While I am no longer running the rescue, I have a deep desire to work with animals and help make the lives of pet guardians easier.

I have been a close friend with Jodi for many years. Jodi and I met through dog rescue which has always been her true love. Her other love is nature and hiking so I am not surprised that she is offering dog walking and if your dog can hike...ehat a good way to tire your pup. A tired dog is a good dog.
I have known Jodi for at least 10 years and not only has she been an advocate against BSL during that time, but has also been one of the most passionate dog lovers I have ever known. My dogs are part of my family and there are very, very few people I would trust to take care of them. Jodi is in that category. In fact I recently moved from the area and am hoping she likes making trips to Ohio.
I have known Jodi peripherally, in the “pit bull” rescue community, for more than 10 years. She has been a tireless advocate for the fair treatment of dogs around the country. If I lived closer, I would not hesitate to have her care for / romp with my dogs!
Cannot say enough great things about Jodi and her love of all dogs. Her hiking experience joined with her rescue and outright love of dogs makes her the ideal Hound Hiking buddy, especially for those that don't have the time or ability to get out in the great outdoors with their own pups, or doesn't want their pup spending their entire day confined in a kennel. I would trust her with any of my dogs, even our rotten pup Finn...and he's a challenge! But Jodi is always up to it no matter how energetic/shy/old/young/etc the pup might be.

I am a very outdoorsy and athletic person. I can offer simple dog walks in the park or around your neighborhood, or for the more active and adventurous canine, I also offer 2-3 mile hiking outings! My personal dogs are avid hikers, and they LOVE to hit the trails with me. I have found through the years that dogs get just as much pleasure from the great outdoors as much as I do -- and boy, does it wear them out! :)
A typical day
I will walk your dog in a nearby park or around your neighborhood. If you have a more active and adventurous dog, I also offer 2-3 mile hikes with your dog at Cummins Falls State Park or a hiking venue close to your home. Your dog will love it, and we'll send you some lovely pictures while we're out exploring, as well!

I am currently working part-time, so my ability to spend quality time with your beloved canine companion(s) is extremely flexible. I can happily accommodate a long-term schedule with you or, in the alternative, a (somewhat) last minute need.
