I Like Big Mutts and I Cannot Lie!

Pet care experience

🐕‍🦺 Save $20! Promo code JODIM75894 🦮 I’ve owned dogs and cats for as long as I can remember and since losing my senior dog, I’m looking for more animals to love, particularly dogs to walk around the neighbourhood, drop in and spend time with or board inside my home. I’m open to caring for cats on a drop in basis, as well. Over the years, I’ve had the amazing opportunity to raise puppies to senior-hood as well as rescuing wonderful but neglected adult dogs from the Humane Society. Both were challenging yet very rewarding because every dog had a different personality and taught me different lessons. I’ve been to obedience classes where I learned the basics of how to train puppies to be the best versions of themselves. I enjoy play time and cuddles, but also understand that reinforcing good manners such as sit, down, stay, off, walk, shake a paw/high five, are important to not only owners but to your pup’s mental and physical well being. If you love photos, I’ll share creative portraits of your pet during our time together. Looking forward to chatting and building a pawsitive relationship with you and your pup! A note about fees: Boarding fees are for up to 24 hours. Additional time that is not a full day may incur additional fees. Not all holidays or high demand times in Ontario are included on Rover such as Family Day or March Break, so rates may be adjusted accordingly. Drop in rates are for 30 minutes to a maximum of 2 hours and can include one 30 minute walk plus additional time outside and lots of attention.

Jodi is absolutely incredible! Her warm nature made our dog, Sophie immediately at ease. When I came to pick Sophie up she was reluctant to leave because she'd had such a wonderful time. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our Soph!!

Jodi did a phenomenal job taking care of our 2 big dogs and cat so we could get away for Easter weekend. She went above and beyond making sure we were up to date with how they were doing, especially since it was our first time leaving them with someone that didn’t already know our fur family. From the beautiful photos she sent I could tell our babies were well loved and taken care of. Jodi is also so sweet and it was lovely meeting her. We will definitely be booking again for future trips! Thank you so much, Jodi!

Jodi is not only one of the kindest hearts you’ll meet, but she will care and love your doggo just like her own. She not only plays, feeds, walks the dog/s, she even takes selfies and sends them so you know what they’re doing while you’re away!! My senior gal loves Jodi, and I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone! She will quickly become your furfaces best friend!! You will not be disappointed!!

I believe that all dogs deserve to be loved so I do not have a breed preference - temperament and personality are more important. My philosophy is to help reinforce good behaviour already started and although bathroom accidents can occasionally happen, I will only accept house trained and well-mannered pets. You can rest assured that your dog(s) will get my full attention since I only board one dog at a time or two dogs from one family. I will work with you and your dog’s schedule as much as possible, not to disturb their feeding and bathroom routine as I know how important it is for their comfort and well-being. Your dog will enjoy long walks where proper etiquette will be gently reinforced, followed by playtime and lots of cuddles. I have a large fenced yard where we can play and will allow your dog(s) the run of the house. I can also provide a crate if your dog is used to feeling safe when resting or staying overnight.

Information Jodi M. would like to know about your pet

Please let me know if your dog has any special needs such as a specific diet or medications. Also, if you’ve been working on any basic training activities, I’d be happy to continue reinforcing them for you. If you’ve not listed the following answers in your dogs profile, it’s very helpful to know what activities they love to do, if they have any fears or dislikes, are they sensitive to any parts of their body being touched, are they food motivated, do they counter or table surf for food, whether they’ve had formal training or not, and what your preferred words/hand signs are for basic commands. For first time boarders, a meet and greet in advance is a must. Agreeing to meet is not an agreement to board. Once I have met your dog and had a successful boarding experience, meet and greets won't be necessary and bookings can be requested the day before.

A typical day

I enjoy taking dogs on long walks and working on basic training exercises. Your pup will be rewarded with treats and lots of pawsitive reinforcement. If you live close by, I can also spend time playing ball or letting your dog off leash in my fully fenced backyard.
