A Countryside Holiday for your Pup!
Pet care experience
We are a couple based in Cheddington, with a Greyhound who sleeps no less than 18 hours a day, and a Cocker Spaniel, who is playful and a bit mad, but has learnt to respect dog’s space if they don’t want to play! I (Jo) am a fully qualified dog trainer through the IMDT - Institute of Modern Dog Trainers. I only teach using force-free and positive methods, meaning the dogs are never stressed during training (because who really wants to learn through fear?). I have years of experience working with dogs, originally working as a dog groomer for 4 years, many years ago until my circumstances changed and I re-trained as an Accountant. However, life is too short to be stuck in an office, so I'm following my dream to become a Dog Behaviourist, with the hope to complete a Master's Degree in Canine Behaviour over the coming years. As I work from home every day, your dog will never be left alone. My partner Jordan also works from home, ensuring that your pup will always get tons of attention and fuss should they want it :-) We are both huge dog lovers, and understand that every dog is different and has different needs and personalities. Our greyhound, Sable and Gavin, our cocker spaniel are very friendly - and they can't wait to make friends with yours! Jordan and I love country walks - we are very privileged to live in such a rural location that walks like Ashridge, Tring Park and Wendover Woods are just around the corner from us! We have a large car, so can happily fit most dogs in our boot for these types of walks if you'd like, or we can just take them out locally - we live next to a canal that provides gorgeous scenery (and lots of good smells!). We are also both Dog First Aid trained, for your peace of mind. If you would like to discuss Dog Training, we can add this onto the Dog Boarding / Sitting - just let us know and we can give you more details :-)
Reviews
Lulu had a wonderful time with Joanna and loved playing with her dog Gavin. Thank you for taking such good care of her Joanna.
Our cocker spaniel stayed with Jo and had the best time
Really recommend Joanna, great communication and Dot really enjoyed her stay, thanks so much!
Our two mad spaniels had a great time and were looked after amazingly. Definitely recommend Jo.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is of paramount importance to us. We have a fully enclosed garden, with 6ft fencing around the whole perimeter. We also have good understanding of canine body language, so we know what to look out for should any issues arise. And lastly, it goes without saying that we always feed dogs seperatley, to avoid any potential issues.
Information Joanna W. would like to know about your pet
Please could we ask to ensure your dog is happy with other dogs, and is toilet trained (please also advise if your male dog is likely to mark). If they have any behavioural issues (resource guarding / aggression of any kind / anxiety etc.) we just ask that we’re told in advance so we can manage the environment (and make sure that they’re always feeling safe and happy, and that we’re not causing any stress or triggers for them!) - rather than finding out during the stay and putting ourselves in potentially harmful situations!
A typical day
We often go for long country walks up Ivinghoe Beacon or Ashridge, the steep hills soon wear even the most energetic of dogs out (and us!). We also have plenty of toys and enrichment games to keep your dog entertained during the day. I (Jo) have clients sporadically during the day if Jordan’s working from home, but if he’s in the office then I work from home and do client visits in the evening - so your dog will never be left alone!

Both Jordan and I (Jo) work from home on alternate days so one of us is always around to care for your dog, whatever their needs may be!
