A family of three (husband Michael, toddler Frank(3y) and I) are very happy owners of two beautiful Shih Tzu - Mika & Oli. Mika, Oli's mum is almost 10 years old - very happy, playful, and the most friendly dog you would ever meet. Oli was born at the end of April 2019, just like his mum - happy, friendly and loves to play. We live in a good size 2-bedroom apartment in the Shore area, Edinburgh. We don't have a balcony or garden, but there's a small park nearby which we go to regularly (has gates and fewer dogs coming, so it is safer and secured) & a big park - Leith Links just 5 min walk away, and I take my dogs there at the weekends. We are happy to look after any type of dog as Mika & Oli are super friendly, happy to share their toys (have plenty), bed (sometimes) and definitely don't mind when I cuddle other doggies :D We can look after your furry baby while you're away on holiday or you just need a day or two for yourself - dog boarding (24h stay). I can guarantee that your furry baby will be kissed, cuddled, and well looked after :D We can provide food (additional cost) or you can bring your own, especially if any special diet is required. I'm happy and know how to administer oral medication, eye/ear drops, and any sprays or cream applications. Unfortunately, I don't offer a collection service. Monty stayed with Joanna for 17 nights whilst we were on holiday and I'm sure he would have been more than happy to stay longer. I was really nervous about leaving him for so long but Joanna and I met a couple of times for dog walks before his stay and her own two dogs got on brilliantly with him. Joanna kept us informed with regular updates (photos and videos) and it was so very much appreciated to see pictures of Monty in his most relaxed and trusting poses. I would happily recommend Joanna if you are looking for home boarding and I will definitely be looking to book her again in the future.
Excellent care and attention. My dog is a classic terrier that needs a lot of attention and activity. Returned home relaxed and contented. Clearly had a great time at Joanna’s. Would not hesitate to recommend her services, easy to contact and flexible on arrangements.
Joanna was so great with our dog. She put so much effort into reassuring us, meeting beforehand and sending us updates during his stay. Fantastic - will definitely use her again!

I need to make sure they are ok with kids - toddlers and they will be safe around them. I like to know their routine, as I always like to keep it the same when they are staying at my home. Less stressful for the doggie or for the owners. Things doggies don't like, are not allowed or are ok to give - like veggies, extra snacks or not allowed on the sofa. Anything important or they think would make the stay more comfortable for both the doggie and the owner.
A typical day
Doggies will never be alone as they will always have a company of my own two (Mika & Oli). They always have me and my son Frank who loves playing fetch or spending time with them. We like going for walks or spending time in the wee park around the corner. Plenty of toys and opportunities to have fun.

Working from home, but I have to leave for a few hours on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I have plenty of time in between to look after doggie, always time for kisses and cuddles. My wee assistant Frank (3y) loves doggies and looking after them, making sure they have fresh water and like to be in charge of snack distribution.
