Quality pet care from a PhD student
Pet care experience
My family got my first dog when I was 5 years old. She was a lovely 70 lb lab mix named Peggy. Peggy instilled an enormous love of animals within me at an early age. Since then, I've owned several more of my own animals and have been dutifully providing pet care for neighbors, family friends, and members of my community. I have been happily affiliated with Rover for the past 7+ years and worked as an independent pet care provider for 8+ years prior. Take a scroll through my reviews to read about past clients' experiences with me as their petsitter :)
Reviews
Jo was great. Very communicative. My pup was well taken care of and she left the house in good order. Highly recommend.
Joanna was super nice and took good care of our old girl. We would definitely use her again.
This was a big help since I was gone all day. The pictures were great, and I'm sure Maggie enjoyed the walk. Thank you!
JoAnna was great for a a few drop-in visits for our cat while we went camping! Everything was simple and our cat seemed happy when we were back!

I have seen firsthand how distressed animals can become when boarded in conventional crowded, noisy, uncomfortable kennels. As a result of this, I am a firm believer in personalized care within the pet's home or my own. Separation from their owners will always be disruptive to a pet's well-being, but by allowing pets to receive high-quality care from the comfort of their own home or mine, greater peace of mind for both the pet and owner can be achieved. Despite prices lower than those of most boarding facilities, you can be sure that while in my care, your pet will receive the one-on-one attention and personalized care they deserve. I'm an avid lover of the outdoors and spend my spare time rock climbing, skiing, camping/backpacking, and hiking. I would love the company of your dogs on my upcoming hikes and adventures! I am currently a neuroscience PhD student at the University of Oregon but my schedule is still quite open and flexible. Please don't hesitate to message me with any questions you may have! Thanks!

I am more than willing to cater to any needs or preferences you may have regarding the activities you would like me to engage your dog in. Being a former cross country runner and D1 collegiate rugby player, I am more than willing to run with your dog(s), as well as take them on long walks, to the dog park, somewhere with water so they can swim, or anything else you can think of! I have experience training dogs in obedience and agility and would be happy to work with your dog on some new tricks or reinforce old ones. I am more than willing to keep up with any training regime your pet may be on so that their progress is not lost in your absence. I will regularly send pictures of your furry friend and keep you updated on how they are doing and what activities we’ve been up to. An unlimited supply of love and belly rubs is complimentary with every stay. While in my care, your pet's safety, happiness, and wellbeing will be my first priority!

Availability
I have considerable experience providing quality pet care for dogs ranging from 5 lb chihuahuas to 220 lb Mastiffs, cats of all temperaments, and even more unconventional pets such as chickens/other birds, reptiles, fish, and amphibians (all of which I have owned in the past). I have worked extensively with animals that previously faced abuse or neglect and am well versed in the proper techniques required to facilitate their healing and the reaching of their full potential. I am also comfortable administering medications and caring for elderly animals and pets facing incontinence.
