All the comforts of home!
Pet care experience
I love to provide the snuggles for your dogs and cats when you can't be there to do it yourself! I have two small dogs and two cats. Our house is quite animal-centric but also calm! I have experience with medical injections. My home is 2.5 years old, with solid-surface floors in all but three rooms. The back yard is fully fenced yard with plenty of room to play. (No diggers, please!) There is a dog door to the outside, and most dogs learn how to use it pretty quickly so they can go out whenever they want.
Reviews
Joan is Great! Sends lots of pictures and updates and my Nyx is always happy when I pick her up.
Joan is amazing! Her house and yard are perfect for pets, and she is so great with them
Our pets have stayed with Joan on several occasions but their most recent stay was 13 days. Joan goes above and beyond to treat your pets like family and she spends a lot of time getting to know their personalities. Our pets are very comfortable staying with Joan. They do not exhibit any sign of stress or anxiety. We know they will be happy and well cared for with Joan.

Safety, trust & environment
I care for my canine guests as though they were my own, paying special attention to any additional needs they might have, such as medicines and feeding schedules. The few (carpeted) places dogs aren't supposed to go without supervision are blocked off with baby gates. Dogs are allowed in the bedroom at night if that's what they're most comfortable with. Or they can have a crate in the guest room if that's more comfortable. And of course, they're welcome to bring their own familiar beds! Cat guests get the guest room next to my office and can wander the house after they settle in.

Information Joan L. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know your pet's normal routine; feeding, potty, nap, and play times; normal bedtime, bedtime routine, and preferred sleeping location; reactions to strangers and children; things that scare them or set them off; and things that comfort them.
A typical day
For active dogs, we live in a terrific walking neighborhood with several parks nearby, but also have a good-sized yard. There are balls to throw and squeak, clean dog-safe toys to play with or cuddle, and yummy treats. Vegging on the couch can also be arranged for pet guests who enjoy that :)

Availability
I work full time but remotely from my home office. I'm almost always home. There are LOTS of dog beds with clean blankets, and always fresh water. Most of my guests spend the days hanging out with me and if they're up to it we take a nice walk around the neighborhood or on the nearby Murdoch Trail.
