Hello there! My name is Joan and I can't wait to be your go-to pet sitter! I'm a Denver native, solar consultant, and host of the Climate Action Homes YouTube channel. I'm gone for most of the day some days babysitting my grandbaby and doing solar stuff, so I typically care for cats. However, if your dog is ok to be left alone most of the day, please reach out to discuss. I'm an experienced pet person who can provide care for your pets in their own home--where they are the most comfortable. I work from home so my schedule is flexible. I've been pet sitting with Trusted Housesitters since June 2021, staying one month or longer at locations in the Metro Denver and mountain areas. You can check my reviews there. I recently became active again with Rover to do shorter overnight petsitting. I'm based in central Denver. I love dogs, cats and all animals! I grew up with three special dogs. They taught me so much about responsibility and unconditional love: Scamper our Irish Setter, Oreo our everything mix and Sugi, our Chow all had a paw in teaching me how to be the best pet parent I could. I have also taken care of cats, including the gorgeous, mysterious Dexter. You and your pet will love that I make a real effort to get to know them. I care that they feel comfortable and loved, I'll always treat them like my own. Your pet will be safe and content with me, so you can enjoy your hard earned time off. I enjoy walking in our beautiful Denver neighborhoods and exploring my home town! I'm a holistic health coach and eco-nut! I love hiking, yoga and making friends with pets and their parents. If you choose me to take care of your pets you can feel confident that your they will not only be fed and exercised, but rubbed, played with and loved. I'm not comfortable around aggressive dogs, but am fine with pets that have separation anxiety or need oral medications. Please reach out to me to set up a meet and greet! Joan was great with my elderly cat! She sent constant updates and I could tell my cat was happy and well taken care of when I got home. Joan had to give her oral meds - and did it perfectly - especially since my cat will fight it ha. She also did overnights and left our apartment in great condition. Highly recommend Joan!
Joan was great! We had quite the handful of kitty situations at our house and she was very responsive and keeping us in the know. She kept our home tidy as well for our return.

Do they have any health issues that may impact their stay? I want the stay to go smoothly, so the more I know, the better.
A typical day
I want to do what your pet is comfortable with, whether that's a long leisurely walk around the neighborhood or a snuggle session on the couch. I'll follow all of your instructions to the letter and make sure that your pet has a wonderful time! They'll get all the pats and belly rubs they want, treats--if parent approved-- and we'll just be able to enjoy each other's company.

Most of my work is remote or flexible meetings with clients. I'm able to visit your home multiple times during the day or stay overnight, depending on what we decide together.
