Pet care experience
Animals have been a major part of my life ever since I could remember. I was lucky enough to grow up on a farm that allowed for lots of pets to run around and explore. Slowly, I was taught how to love and take care of animals. I have had dogs my whole life, as well as a cat that I think might live forever. In high school, I volunteered with Animal Friends. I was responsible for walking dogs and performing various training activities. I also attended further training sessions to be able to work with the dogs with more of an aggressive temperament. Other than dogs, I handled cats and engaged them in enrichment. My neighbors, friends, and family have entrusted me to walk, feed, and bathe their pets nearly my entire life. I frequently petsit for family friends when they go away on vacations. I love being able to get the animals active and excited about the day.
Reviews
Jillian was great. I was so happy to find someone to do a drop in visit with Ella on Christmas Day. Jillian texted me to let me know how the visit went which I really appreciated. This was my first time using Rover but I would definitely use Jillian again.
Jillian did a great job. From when she first met our dog, to the check in with photos. She took the time to communicate everything we wanted and needed to know about the dog when she stopped in. We would highly recommend her to anyone, and will use her anytime we are out of town in the future.

Safety, trust & environment
I always keep safety as my highest priority, especially around animals. Thankfully, I have fairly extensive knowledge on the body language of cats and dogs that I learned while volunteering at shelters. Making sure your pets are comfortable and able to relax is my entire job and I will go to great lengths to make it happen.
Information Jillian P. would like to know about your pet
Please be sure to let me know if your dog has any special behaviors or needs any special accommodations. I have worked with animals that have come from a wide variety of backgrounds, but no one understands a dog better than their owner! To keep your furry friend feeling safe and happy, it is best that I know of any triggers that could possibly throw them off.
A typical day
My main priority when sitting with a dog, is to make sure they have as much fun and stimulation as possible. I love taking them on walks where there are so many scents to sniff, their little noses just go crazy. I also find it important to play enrichment games with them to energize their minds as well. I truly believe that mental exercise is just as important for animals as it us for us humans.

Availability
I am currently in between jobs, which leaves my days nights wide open to care for your pets! If you need someone to let your dog out and get their legs stretched while you're at work, my schedule could be a great fit. (I have just accepted a job offer, so I’m not entirely sure what my availability will look like after Thanksgiving. I do not have an official start date yet. The job hours will be 8-5, making me unavailable from 7-6 each weekday. Please reach out if you have any questions at all, I am always happy to give you more insight!)
