Pet care experience
I've had pets my entire life, but recently I've spent the past 3 years volunteering at my local animal shelter and spent the beginning of 2024 in Africa volunteering at a Wildlife Sanctuary. While at the animal shelter, my responsibilities included: kennel cleaning, dog walking, administering medicines/vaccines, fostering puppies and kittens, handling emotionally abused/fearful animals, and facilitating adoptions. While in Africa, I supported research activities for elephants, rhinos, lions and wild dogs; and also provided daily care for meerkats, baboons, cheetahs and hyenas. I'm currently on a career break and would love to offer my time to helping other local pet owner's. I love cats (I speak their language), and I love walking dogs (rain/sun/snow). I love taking long walks and would love to bring a high-energy friend along so they can get their exercise in too!

Wanted Jillian and Izzy to work out so much but .25 miles (or less) for 30-minute walks wasn't what I expected based on her profile but I gave the benefit of the doubt b/c she was new and really sweet. I got a message today from her that her calendar was full and it's not.
Even though it was extremely rainy today. Jillian showed up and got the pups out on their walk.
Jillian's great with my Snowball, very attentive & Snowball super excited to see her at every visits. She also helped me with the extended request. Will definitely keep her on the top list of Snowball sitter.
Another great walk with Jillian. The pups slept all afternoon after their walk!

If it's my first time meeting you and your pet, I would like to do a "Meet & Greet" and discuss your pet's temperament, personality and routines. If your dog is high-energy and really needs to exert as much as possible, I can take your dog out for an hour or more for a fast-paced walk or a game of catch.
A typical day
For a "drop-in" visit, I will do the standard care; feeding, water refilling, walking, etc. But I will also spend quality time with your furbaby, thinks snuggles and hugs, praises and play time! For "dog walking", I bring my own poop bags, water and treats (Mother Hubbard brand) but if you prefer your own treats, I can bring those too.

Availability
My schedule is wide open, Monday through Friday. For dogs, my rate is listed as "per walk" but I'm also very interested in scheduling pets who need a longer walk, so my hourly would kick-in, but I'm happy to discuss the appropriate rates for the extra time.
