Our pup loved his visit and we received many videos and photos while we were away. We will definitely use her as our pet sitter again in the future!

I have used this sitter in the past, and while I was somewhat satisfied of the last 2 services, I realize I gave this sitter too much grace. First and foremost, I am a sitter myself (on Wag!), Since 2018. I’ve completed 212 services, so I know what to expect when it comes to sittings.. and this sitter did not meet the standards that I believe Rover holds. During this specific sitting, Jiahui rarely updated me. She only sent 1-2 photos of my dog 1x a day without any description. I never got updated if my dog got walked, how she was behavior wise (unless I asked), if my dog got fed, and overall what my dog did this weekend. It makes me wonder if she even properly take care of my dog. When I sit for other people’s dog… I give them a report card of how they did over the sitting, along with how many times I walked them, what time, and all activities done for the day. It is always better to over communicate than not to, since I like to give that assurance that the owner’s dog is being cared for. My biggest issue with this sitting is that the only time Jiahui was active in communicating with me was 4-5 minutes before I picked up my dog. She claimed that my dog damaged her screen. I saw photos of the damage and it was small, but I still offered to help. She expected me to not only replace the entire door, but expected me to replace the same day. Luckily, Rover told me that I was not obligated and responsible to fix the damages given that she should have been watching the dog and understanding the risks. She also told my boyfriend (who was picking up my dog) that my dog was “horrible” and “different than last time”. I was never communicated this during the sitting at all, not even after my boyfriend picked her up. The thing is, animals react differently in new environments, and Jiahui moved homes. Had she expressed this concern during the sitting, I would have come up with a solution, but I was never made aware of it. I am not confident she knows how animal behavior works. With past sittings, she communicated a little more, but not as much. She also fed my dog food that wasn’t my dog’s— I didn’t find out until after I had picked up my dog, and after I reviewed and tipped her… my dog was sick for a week. She also let go of my dog’s leash and let my dog run to me when picking her up… which is not responsible at all. I was nice about it, but I should have never let it happen. I will not be using this sitter again. While I think she does care about animals… and decently took care of my dogs, I would not recommend her to anyone again unless they want rarely any updates. I will be taking my dog to boarding facilities next time so things like this don’t happen.
