Typically things I like to know about pets I'll be taking on is little notes about their personalities, quirks, & habits, so it can help me get acquainted with each pet a little easier. E.g. if pets are food motivated, if specific pets are on a diet, how pets are around other animals, etc. I also like to know about any important health needs of pets that I'll be caring for, & I usually ask for client direction on how to respond & report on the health needs of a pet in case any situation that requires attention were to occur.

A typical day from morning to evening could look like this, unless adjustments need to be made for the individual needs of a specific pet. Morning: I like to start the day out with a morning feeding & then if I'm sitting dogs, taking them out for potty breaks, & also allowing for some outdoor time as needed to let them play & get out some of their energy at this time. For cats or other animals, where potty breaks are on their own time, I'll be checking & cleaning litterboxes at this time. Noon: The early morning to noon is also a good time that I like to take dogs on walks, but this can be done at any specific time the client requests, as well. Walks will take place around the client's home, or at a specific park or route requested by the client that can be walked to from the client's home. For cats or other pets that like to play, I can engage in playtime or just spend time giving attention with scratches, grooming activities or just getting to know the pet & letting them get comfortable around me. *Any specific playtime or scheduled activities can be incorporated throughout the day, as per client request. Evening: Then from noon to evening, for dogs, there can be some additional outdoor or playtime if play is needed after a walk, & then following that, there will be some downtime if pets need some alone time, naptime, or winding down time to rest. Then we'll end the day with an evening feeding, an evening potty break/litterbox cleaning, as needed, & again, if there are additional activities the client prefers with their pet, then I am adaptable & willing to learn about specific playtime or additional activities clients would like for me to engage with their pet in.
