Pet care experience
I have cared for dogs (personal family dogs and others' dogs) all my life. I have been providing more professional animal sitting of all types of pets (dogs, cats, fish, reptiles, etc.) for about 15 years. Caring for animals provides me such joy. I have taken care of cats and dogs of all ages (from puppy/kitten hood to senior animals) of all sizes. I have cared for animals with chronic medical conditions, including diabetes, Cushing's disease and kidney conditions, and have experience providing medications, special diets, and lots of tender loving care. My pet care experience also includes walking, bathing, brushing, and lots and loves of cuddles :)

This was our first time leaving our dog for an extended period of time. Jessie and Matthew were super kind and reassuring. They sent updates and photos of our dog who looked quite happy in their care. I’d use Jessie and Matthew again in a heartbeat.
Matthew was great and very understanding of our house sitting situation. We have 7 animals that needed care and one needed medication during the stay and he was more than willing to take care of them all. It's not an easy tasks caring for that many animals! We returned and all the animals were happy and the house was cleaned up. Would highly recommend Jessie and Matthew and will definitely use their services in the future!
Jessie and Matt boarded our nearly 10-year old Golden Doodle Sadie for 10 days in July and it was a fantastic experience. We met them both in advance and introduced Sadie to their sweet dog, Lady Belle to make sure it was a good match, and it was obvious right away that it would be. They were great communicators, and it was easy to coordinate drop off and pick up times. During our trip we received regular updates and pictures, and throughout our travels we were completely at ease, knowing Sadie was in good hands. We are thrilled to have found such a great place for Sadie to stay when we are away, and we’ll definitely book with them again whenever we next hit the road. Thank you Jessie and Matt!

The care provided to your pet will be individualized to their needs and your preferences (e.g. number and lengths of walks, play, etc,). If your dog comes to my home, we have our own adored Cowboy Corgi, (Corgi and Red Heeler mix) Lady Belle, who will also be able to provide companionship and play with your pet. In our home, animals have full access to the furniture to provide a comfortable and warm environment. However, as mentioned, we are happy to alter your pet's care to their needs (e.g. if they have a crate or bed in which they are most comfortable). While our place does not have it's own yard, we do have a fenced in dog park, a park across the street, and lots of grassy areas to walk and play with dogs. We also live very close to the water, and have a look out with a nice walk to it. We have recently moved to Vallejo, though we are open to providing services in the Oakland/East Bay area. Unfortunately, due to the distance, we will only be able to take on services in the East Bay if the timing, place, and animal are a good fit for us, but we would love to talk with you about fit!

Before sitting your pet, we would like to know about their physical needs (energy level, medical conditions, allergies, medications, etc.), their food preferences, their vet information, their interests, and their preference about cuddles and affection.
A typical day
Of course, we will individualize activities and play to your pet's needs (energy level, physical needs, interests, etc.). We provide physical stimulation through walks in the nearby parks and grassy areas, dog parks (if the owner is comfortable with that), and adventures out to see the water (we do not allow animals too near or in the water). We will also have inside play time, which will be individualized to each dog, but may include toys or enrichment activities/snacks. Additionally, should your dog stay with us in our home, they will have companionship and play with our dog, Lady Belle.

Availability
During the week, I work a hybrid schedule (part from home and part from the office/in the community). This means I will be very present to provide attention, affection, and care for your pet. When I do need to leave for work my partner, who has also cared for animals all his life, mostly works from home and will often be here to provide lots of love and care to your pet.
