I have been caring for a variety of dogs for many years, including my own. My aunt and uncle used to be registered breeders of Labrador Retrievers, so I have extensive knowledge of caring for very young puppies as well as the nursing mothers. I have volunteered at a variety of animal-based institutions, such as the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA and the Animal Control Center. At these institutions I was taking care of animals, making sure I recorded their feeding times, medication times (if they were taking medications), socializing them, learning about the different types of behaviours associated with different breeds and identifying signs of nervous, aggressive, dominant and friendly dogs. In one particular instance, for about a week I was giving medicinal baths twice a day to a dog with a skin condition. I have assisted my best friend on multiple occasions with in-home and overnight dog sitting for two German Shepherds that are on a raw diet. I am currently studying to work in the veterinary field and have worked with an animal behaviourist in the past, which I believe helps me in properly assessing your dog to see if we are a good match.
