Pet care experience

Hi, I'm Jessica! Pets enrich our life experiences and add so much joy to our lives. They're family! As a Fear Free certified pet care professional, I'm committed to providing your companion with high-quality, compassionate care. I've been an animal welfare professional for nearly 6 years, with time spent in shelter, rescue, and veterinary settings. I've interacted with animals of all ages, shapes and sizes, breeds, and temperaments, in addition to those with visual/hearing impairments. My Specialties include: - Enrichment and Care: I can pick up on your pet’s emotions and body language and won’t ever force them to do something they’re uncomfortable with! I take things at your pet’s pace - I understand not all pets are social butterflies and may have unique quirks. - Medical Assistance: Administering oral and topical medications, IVs & fluids, and intramuscular injections; providing basic medical attention; updating owners on their pet’s treatment progression if currently prescribed medication - Pet Safety & Awareness: Recognizing general symptoms of infection, illness, injury, abnormalities, or other signs your pet isn’t feeling his or her best - Canine Behavior Training: Received 3 months of hands-on training with a veterinarian certified in positive reinforcement behavior training via the Karen Pryor Academy. Specialties include marker training (clicker training with treats as a reward) to teach cues, prevent undesirable behaviors (keeping 4 paws on the ground, taking treats gently), crate training, and loose leash walking. Your dog(s) and cat(s) will be well cared for with me (as if they were one of my own!), and will have lots of fun too. 💚

Jessica brought such kindness and patience while cat-sitting our slow-to-warm-up Sherbert for the first time. Her updates were timely and thorough and we appreciated all the pictures she sent us! We’ll hire her again and again!

✅ Please let me know if your dog has a current medical issue, was recently presented for a concern at your vet, or is suspected of not feeling 100% well, so I can provide updates on treatment (if necessary). ✅ Does a specific noise, movement, object, action, or place give your pet anxiety? Be sure to let me know so I ensure your pet feels comfortable and safe in my care.

A typical day

If your dog wants to follow his/her nose on a quiet nature trail, take a casual stroll through your neighborhood, or be the center of attention downtown, I can make it happen. Whether your pet prefers to relax on the couch, get belly rubs on the floor, enjoy uninterrupted playtime in the backyard, or do a little bit of everything — I can make it happen!
