I love pups of all ages, and was lucky enough to grow up with some of the best dogs around. I believe that dogs need the ability to run around, or laze on the sofa - whichever their heart desires - but I also believe in rules. When caring for someone else's animal, I feel it important to maintain the rules the pup lives by on an everyday basis. If you say no furniture, no people food, no socializing? Then that is what you get. I understand that all dogs have their own needs and personality, I strive to cause as minimal interruption in their day to day as possible. But above all, they'll get lots of pets and love. I currently don't have a dog of my own, but my previous pup was a rescue who suffered from anxiety around people which taught me a lot about different ways to socialize an animal and about understanding their limits and what they can handle. He felt safe around me, but when he didn't want to be in the park because there was too much going on, we left the park and went home to his safe space. Dogs will always let you know what they need and I work hard to pay attention to them and make them feel safe and loved at all times.
