Growing up I raised a seeing-eye dog through Southeastern Guide Dogs. Our pup, Dot, who graduated from the program, was placed with a wonderful human and it was one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. In my junior and senior year of high school, we raised another seeing-eye dog, Lydia, and rescued/fostered animals all in between. In my current home with my family, we have two dogs, chickens, and a fish. I have experience with dogs, cats, farm animals, reptiles, guinea pigs, pregnant mamas, etc. My children are ANIMAL lovers and my goal is to continue to foster that love as long as I can. While I would LOVE to have a mini-farm and dog rescue one day, that is just not in the cards right now, so I fill that by spending time outside with our animals, going on walks with our dogs, and taking them on adventures like the beach and hiking. I am comfortable with animals who have behavioral issues and are in training. Not only am I patient and understanding with a frightened pet but I am their biggest supporter. I am a nurse and am comfortable/experienced with special needs pets. There is nothing better than earning the trust of an animal and I hope to have the chance to bond with yours!
