Hi there! My name is Jessica, and I’m new to Rover. However, I am not new to pet care. I’m 24 years old, and grew up in Georgia having 6 dogs and 4 cats, as my mom was very involved with a local rescue and fostering. I currently work as a marine biologist on large ships out at sea doing federal work with several sea turtle species. In the past, I have worked at a vet’s office, a small zoo, the Georgia Aquarium, PetSmart, a sea turtle genetics lab, two sea turtle projects (one in Costa Rica, one in St. Kitts), Portland General Electric doing salmon work, and even Sunriver Nature Center, where you may have seen me with a snake or two. I’m an avid outdoors woman where I love skiing, climbing, running, and I have also hiked the entire Appalachian Trail. I spent the last two months hiking the Continental Divide Trail, but I received a call to return to work. I travel a lot for my current job, so I work one month on/ one month off and will be in Bend every other month with a completely open schedule. I have a lot of animal care experience between dogs, cats, and everything in between. I currently have a pet ferret that lives at our home in Bend, so unfortunately, I will not be able to take any pets into my home, but I more than happy to come to yours to take care of your pets.
