I have had pets my entire life, and haven't had a home that didn't include a dog as a family member for over 28 years now. I loved my dog more than anything and unfortunately had to put her down very recently, but recently brought on a new family member: a puppy named Walter Poe. I love finding opportunities to watch other peoples dogs in order to help them out while also getting to spend time with more animals. My puppy loves being around other dogs and is super friendly. I come home for lunch to walk the dogs, and take them on a good walk either before or after work. My weekends usually include a dog park at some point too. I have watched many other dogs, cats in their own home, smaller and less common pets (fish, baby chicks, turtles, etc), and love it. The pets definitely are more spoiled than me usually. I work close by so they get walked during the day, go on long walks on the weekends, spoiled with foods made specifically for them (with owner permission of course), and get plenty of time with me at the house My dog is crate trained, crated only when I'm not home and never left alone with other animals. With visiting pets, I have extra crates for those that prefer them crated, but have happily let pets roam free if the owners prefer it. I always talk to the pet owners about routines, feeding, rules at home (on/off furniture, where they sleep, etc) and follow their requests with those things, always asking questions and communicating.
