Pet care experience
Growing up, I cared for my family members' dogs and cats while they were away in addition to caring for my own household pets. Now, I have worked in the veterinary field for over 2 years. I was previously employed at a Fear-Free certified veterinary clinic and am both a Fear-Free and American Association of Feline Practitioners Cat-Friendly certified veterinary professional. I recently moved to this area. Despite feeling incredibly fulfilled in my career as a veterinary assistant, I joined Rover in hopes of reducing the emotional toll incurred from work in the veterinary field and to be able to have a more flexible schedule during this chapter of my life. *Please note that I may ask for additional compensation if your animal has specific medical and/or behavioral needs.*
Reviews
Jessica continues to be absolutely amazing!
Jess is amazing and attentive and took my dog Sonny on such fun walks! She is very empathetic and understood his specific needs. highly recommend!! Sonny is looking forward to more walks with Jess in the future.
Jessica was very reliable and communicative with us throughout our while trip. We loved the pictures and updates. Our dog is a very anxious dog when we are away, and tends to not eat. So Jessica started hand feeding her, and it definitely helped her finish her meals!
Jess was amazing at taking care of our pup and house for a long trip (2 weeks!). We received constant updates and had clear communication throughout the stay and she even took our pup to the park, which our pup really enjoyed! It was very reassuring to have Jess sit for us. We came home to a tired, happy pup and a cleaner house than we left it! Thank you Jess ☺️💜

I care for your pet just as I would my own. I give him/her quality time and attention and genuinely hope they enjoy the time I spend with them as much as I enjoy it. If permitted, I provide ample time outdoors with plenty of sniff breaks. I understand that pets can suffer a variety of stress responses when their owners are away. Therefore, I would like to offer a meet and greet before both parties commit to my care in order to streamline their comfort with me in their home. I am used to working with animals that have special needs, both medical and behavioral. I am comfortable with emergency medical treatment procedures, medications (including injections), and only believe in using positive reinforcement.
Information Jessica M. would like to know about your pet
Surely we will discuss any special needs your pet may have. I have ample experience, especially through my veterinary work, tending to pets with needs varying from aggression triggers to injectable medication administration. We will also go over your pet's normal routine, habits, food intake, and medical information.
A typical day
A typical day with your pet will depend on your pet's specific needs. Obviously, a 15 year old Maltese needs different care than a 2 year old Springer Spaniel. I am physically capable of getting your dog out to exercise and play, but wouldn't mind some chill snuggles if that's all that's necessary. I also love nature and, if permitted, would love to take your pet out of the city for a longer hike. My vehicle is pet friendly.

My livelihood involves caring for pets. I have lived with cats and dogs for the past several years and I worked in a veterinary hospital. I enjoy the various personalities of animals, just as I do people. I feel the most fulfilled when I am around animals so I consider pet care as an integral part of my own quality of life.
