Adventurous and Affectionate

Pet care experience

I treat each animal I care for with the same amount of love and respect as I do for my own dog. I've had family dogs most of my life, but found my goofy, sweet, gentle companion, Monty, about 9 years ago. He and I have traveled the county together and spent time in a number of diverse places and with all kinds of people. He earned the nickname 'Ambassador' because of how well he gets along with every creature, big and small. His demeanor even allowed him to work closely with his dog trainer and I in helping dogs with aggression issues be able to socialize safely. These days, we spend a lot of our time playing in the fenced in yard at the house, going on runs, hiking, or playing with our friends’ dogs. Though getting brushed isn't his favorite thing, he puts up with it at least once a week. At the same time, we check for ticks, check the nails, and check his teeth to make sure he's as healthy as can be. He usually takes a nap afterwards in one of the giant dog beds we keep around the house, but once in awhile he'll grab a toy out of his basket of goodies to start play time all over again. I consider it a privilege to be trusted to care for your animals and take that responsibility very seriously. I've cared for all walks of life, from new born to geriatric, and with all kinds of needs. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have concerning the unique care of your animal, and thank you for taking the time to read a bit about me.

Jessica has always been an animal lover and advocate. She is a dedicated pet parent herself, and she would make a wonderful caregiver to any furry friend she is given to look after. I know that she would be timely and conscientious, making sure her clients are happy.

Jessica’s love, respect, understanding, and compassion for dogs are all very apparent. Her strengths in training and nurturing can be seen in the character of her equally sweet and gentle mixed breed dog Monty. I highly recommend her as a dog sitter.

I have a fenced in yard with room to run around, explore, and play. I also have a few walking routes through big neighborhood parks that are very dog friendly. The common spaces inside the house are all pet-friendly with a mix of carpeted areas and hard wood floors. Accommodations can easily be made for each animal's particular needs.

A typical day

Time away from caregivers can be stressful, so I would want to make sure that your dog had plenty of exercise that fit into his or her regular routine so that there is a mix of stress relief and familiarity. What we do together is entirely dependent on what your dog is used to and comfortable with. That said, I love taking dogs out to hiking trails, the beach, recreation areas, local parks, or just on long walks around the neighborhood. When they're off leash in a fenced in yard or in a safe location, I enjoy playing games with them and working their brains a bit with hide and seek games and doing some training and recall work.
