I treat each animal I care for with the same amount of love and respect as I do for my own dog. I've had family dogs most of my life, but found my goofy, sweet, gentle companion, Monty, about 9 years ago. He and I have traveled the county together and spent time in a number of diverse places and with all kinds of people. He earned the nickname 'Ambassador' because of how well he gets along with every creature, big and small. His demeanor even allowed him to work closely with his dog trainer and I in helping dogs with aggression issues be able to socialize safely. These days, we spend a lot of our time playing in the fenced in yard at the house, going on runs, hiking, or playing with our friends’ dogs. Though getting brushed isn't his favorite thing, he puts up with it at least once a week. At the same time, we check for ticks, check the nails, and check his teeth to make sure he's as healthy as can be. He usually takes a nap afterwards in one of the giant dog beds we keep around the house, but once in awhile he'll grab a toy out of his basket of goodies to start play time all over again. I consider it a privilege to be trusted to care for your animals and take that responsibility very seriously. I've cared for all walks of life, from new born to geriatric, and with all kinds of needs.
