I want to ensure that the pet feels comfortable with me first before approaching as it is very important for them especially if this is in a new environment. Therefore allowing them to see me as a friend, I’d like to be able to build trust with the dog or cat and then take time for them to warm up. It takes a different amount of time depending on the kind of animal and the age of the animal so I understand that it may take longer. I would make sure that the animal would be safe in my home environment by ensuring that there is no risk to the cat/ dog, ensuring that they are well looked after by cleaning the litter, taking the dog for walks, making sure they have a safe space, feeding them ( 2 times a day depending on owners instructions).
